COAD coordinates and amplifies the knowledge, resources, and efforts of member organizations through an emergency-ready system, serving as a collaborative forum where leaders work together across the disaster cycle to strengthen communities, support survivors, and deliver hope.

Local, State, and Federal Agencies

Leadership, coordination, public safety services, and access to government resources and funding throughout all phases of disaster response.

Local Non-Profits

Direct, community-based assistance by addressing immediate needs and supporting long-term recovery for affected individuals and families.

Our mission is to coordinate effective and streamlined service delivery for people affected by disasters across all phases, preparation, response, recovery, and mitigation, while eliminating unnecessary duplication of effort. We build and maintain strong relationships among local community services in Putnam County to promote shared knowledge, ongoing collaboration, and faster, more effective responses to community needs.

Mitigation

Taking actions to reduce or eliminate the risk of a disaster. This includes identifying potential hazards, assessing vulnerabilities, and implementing measures to prevent or minimize the impact of a disaster.

Preparedness

Planning and preparing for a disaster before it occurs. This includes developing emergency plans, stockpiling supplies, and training personnel.

Response

Taking immediate action to save lives and prevent further damage. This includes search and rescue operations, providing medical care, and restoring essential services.

Recovery

Restoring the affected area to its pre-disaster state. This includes repairing infrastructure, providing financial assistance, and offering emotional support to those affected.
